From my own experience: If your boot gets wet when the car is stationery then the water is coming from above. If your boot only gets wet when the car is moving then the water is coming from below. Mine was the latter. CT1 sealer around the seam in the n/s corner of the boot solved the problem.
Gazzaelb. I fancy those flat bottomed ones on ebay, rather expensive though!. Possibly cheaper to get a re trim. I definitely wouldn't fit an after market one without the airbag though, especially without a harness. Not sure it would pass an mot without the airbag.
